??? is the displayed name of a player that you have memorized but not added as kin, and will remain that until added.

You can change the "???" into a name or description you like, for example "The person I met at Snake's lake". So you won't get confused over more people memorized on your Kin List

Adding People

You can Add people as kin by two ways. The first is the Hearth Secret and the second is by simply right-clicking them.

Hearth Secret

The Hearth Secret is basically like a secret password. You can make your own in the "Kin" window, found as the Heart on the Menu Dial.

To add people, simply open it up, and in the textbox in the right, enter their Hearth Secret. Job done.

Memorizing

To add people you've just met and don't know their hearth secret, right click them on your screen and Memorize them. Then right click them again and Add Kin, this will send the person a request to be kin. Job done.
