The silkmoth egg, acquired from silkmoths, can become a silkworm and then a silkworm cocoon (see the silkworm page for more on this). This is an important step in the production of Silk Thread and Silk Cloth.
Silkworm Eggs must be placed on an Herbalist Table for 24-36 in-game (8-12 real life) hours to hatch.
Eggs don't die if left alone.
Just be sure to not put them on your Herbalist table if you can't log in to check on them in 8 hours.
Eggs left in a Container can last essentially forever, without worrying about it dying off.
How to Acquire[]
A male and female silkmoth in the same inventory/container will transform into 2 -10 silkmoth eggs in a day's time.
Any remaining silkmoths who can't mate because of the lack of other gender will die at this point.
